Use of artificial intelligence

This page explains where we use artificial intelligence (AI) in the altamag.ro shop and where we do not. We publish it voluntarily, for transparency — not because it is required.
Where we use AI
- Product descriptions and specifications. Texts and specification tables are drafted automatically, starting from the data we receive from manufacturers and distributors.
- English translation of pages and product information.
- Internal operations that never reach the website: comparing prices with competitors, identifying duplicate product records, checking that images match the product.
Where we do NOT use AI
- Product photographs are real images — received from manufacturers and distributors, or taken from their public sources. We do not publish AI-generated images.
- Customer reviews are written by customers. We neither generate nor alter reviews.
- Prices are not set by AI. They are calculated from supplier costs using markup rules we define. Where we compare prices with other shops, automated tools only identify the equivalent product — a person decides whether a price changes.
- We have no virtual assistant. When you write or call, a colleague answers — not a program.
- We do not train AI systems on your data. How we process personal data is described in our Privacy policy.
How we check what we publish
Product information goes through automated daily checks that look for inconsistencies: prices outside the expected range, duplicate records, images that do not match the product, implausible specifications. Whatever is flagged reaches a colleague, who corrects it.
Even so, an automatically drafted text may contain errors. The manufacturer's datasheet remains the official reference for technical characteristics. If a detail matters for your purchase — a dimension, a compatibility, a power rating — write or call us before ordering and we will check it together.
If you find an error
Write to [email protected] with the product link and what does not match. We correct it, and if the same error affects similar products, we fix it across all of them.
If you bought a product based on incorrect information on the site, your legal rights are unaffected: you may return the product under our Return policy and you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity.
Who is responsible for the content
Editorial responsibility for all content published on altamag.ro, including texts drafted with automated tools, lies with ALTANET S.R.L., the company operating the shop. Identification and contact details are in the Terms and conditions page.
Legal context
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence sets out information duties for certain uses of AI: systems that interact directly with users, "deepfake" content, and text published for the purpose of informing the public on matters of public interest.
altamag.ro is in none of these situations: we use no virtual assistants, we publish no AI-generated or manipulated images, audio or video, and our texts are commercial communication about products, not public-interest information. We publish this page anyway, because we would rather you knew how we work.
